Prema Indian
Mike and Divya started an Indian restaurant in Manchester in 1987.Called the Deansgate; it was very successful and innovative. We pioneered the buffet a first for an Indian restaurant in 1988! We also brought in a system called cook-chill to ensure hygiene and taste way before modern EU health and hygiene rules known now as HACCP.The quality and tastes brought requests from chefs in 5 star hotels for our foods. We started to supply many hotel chains throughout the UK with ready cooked foods. We therefore gave up the restaurant after 6 years and moved to Denton and then Grimsby (!) then back to Manchester to concentrate on food manufacture. We used to live near Withington Hospital before we left Manchester. In 2001 we moved to Paphos (Pafos)Cyprus. Working with the seasons and with locally grown ingredients creates its own problems and opportunities. Blessed with tasteful vegetables , making good food becomes easier, but the needs of those with allergies has led us to make completely natural dishes, without junk and enjoyable by diabetics and Gluten sufferers. We believe we are the First Indian Restaurant to make completely natural dishes
